What is Sciton Erbium Laser Resurfacing?

Our New York Sciton Erbium laser resurfacing gently removes skin imperfections including age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles as well as damage caused by excessive sun exposure. Using an energy beam of light to correct skin imperfections, it is a safe and effective way to achieve healthy and more vibrant looking skin.

How Does Sciton Erbium Laser Resurfacing Work?

The Sciton Erbium laser creates a beam of light, and when applied to the skin at a precise and controlled depth, it evens tone and smooths visibly sun-damaged and aging skin. Controlled by a computer, the laser is extremely accurate, allowing our skincare specialist to target very specific areas of the skin while leaving the other areas untouched.

What Can be Treated with Sciton Erbium Laser Resurfacing?

The laser treatment can improve pigmentation imperfections and smooth many areas of the skin including wrinkles around the forehead, eyes, nose, and mouth. Deeper wrinkles such as laugh lines can be visibly reduced.

Will Sciton Erbium Laser Resurfacing Hurt?

The level of comfort will depend on the patient and the depth of the treatment itself, but generally, most people do not find the treatment painful or difficult to experience.

What Should I Expect During Treatment?

During your laser resurfacing treatment in New York, you will be given eye protection to cover your eyes from the light. Our skincare specialist will place the laser handpiece directly above the targeted area, and the computer will direct the laser beam to the pre-determined depth. The entire treatment should take from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the extent of the skin issues that need correction.

What is the Recovery Time for a Sciton Erbium Laser Resurfacing Treatment?

Each patient’s skin care needs are unique, so recovery will largely depend on the extent of your treatment — specifically, the depth of the laser treatment administered. With a lighter, shallower treatment, you can expect the recovery to take a few days; a deeper, more in depth treatment will require additional days of recovery before you will be ready to return to your normal activities.

How Do I Take Care of My Skin After the Treatment?

Immediately following your NY laser resurfacing treatment, it is normal to see skin redness. Your skin will feel as if you have a sunburn. We can help with ointments to keep the skin moist. The treated area of skin is new and will be more sensitive to the elements and should not be exposed to the sun’s rays without UV sunscreen.

Can I Come in for Additional Treatments?

Our patients tell us they are exceptionally pleased with the fresh, renewed, and rejuvenated skin and choose to regular add Sciton treatments to a comprehensive beauty regimen. The results achieved with this advanced system are truly remarkable.
